1/12/2018- 0 cm
1/16/2018- 0 cm
1/22/2018- 1/4 cm
1/29/2018- 1/4
Experiment:
NO GROWTH
What has been going well?
The Oreochromis aureus in the dark cocoa system are still alive as well as the Oreochromis aureus in the control tank . The plants manage to grow 1/4 of an inch despite the poor conditions.
What has not been going well?
The bell siphon has not been pumping a steady water flow. This may be due to a lack of a vacuum formed inside if the bell siphon. Also, there has been an accumulation of feces that has been threatening the safety levels of the systems. Lighting has also been an issue; there life was too short as well as its brightness was to high for the Spinacia oleracea to grow.
What adjustments have you made/do you plan to make on what has not been going well?
In order to ensure that the system succeeds, my system has been transfer to my home so I can closely monitor issues. For example, I add an adapter to the standpipe to create an air tight suction. This should increase water flow. To fix the feces problem, I will add a water filter in addition to the water pump to ensure safe waters for the Oreochromis aureus. The light have been placed higher.
